So, I’ve spent the last few days away from the computer minus checking my email a couple times. What have I been doing you ask? Ok. maybe you didn’t ask but I’m gonna tell you. I’ve spent it with my family. The thing is though, I find that when I don’t keep myself occupied in some fashion, I tend to worry about things. You might say, “but Jay, we all know worry is a sin”, right? Yeah, worry is a sin but we all do it don’t we? Especially now, in these uncertain days. With our economy being the way it is. People getting laid off all over the place and companies going out of business, it’s very hard not to worry. I’m sure most are familiar with Matthew 6:34 which says:

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”

I keep that verse near to me always because I do worry so much. Just to remind me of what God’s word says about worrying. We have to, as my pastor says, “speak life and not death upon ourselves” and not dwell on what might happen tomorrow. Give it all to God and He will carry you through it.
